A 32 year-old man has been arrested in regards to an assault on a woman this past Friday, according to RCMP.
The arrest occurred on June 1st in Farmington, and police have recommended a charge of sexual assault against the male resident of Grande Prairie.
He has been remanded into custody and was due to appear in court yesterday.
The assault occurred in the early Friday morning hours and the 30 year-old woman was released on the same day with minor injuries.
Edward Aaron James Cook was due to appear in court yesterday on charges of sexual assault and sexual assault with weapon\ threats\ bodily harm, according to Court Services Online, a government website showing public court records.
He was arrested on June 1 for the offence that occurred on May 31, according to court records that also show that he was born in 1980.
Neither the RCMP nor the Crown counsel are willing to comment on whether Cook is being charged with the assault of the 30 year-old woman or a separate alleged offense. It is not known to the Dawson Creek Daily News whether the offense he is being charged with is related to the assault on Friday.
Cook’s next court date is June 11.
